Chamber Of Pharmacy Ghana Issues Directives To Its Members Over Delayed Reimbursement


The Chairman of the Chamber Of Pharmacy Ghana, Harrison Kofi Abutiate has directed its members to request hospitals to provide Payment Guarantee before medicines are supplied to them adding that Health facilities owing more than three months shall no more enjoy any credit facilities from member of the Chamber of Pharmacy Ghana.

This position of the Chamber of Pharmacy Ghana is as a result of the delay in payment by the National Health Insurance Scheme(NHIS) through the Health Service Providers and this position was arrived at during a meeting on January 22, 2020 by the National Executive Council of the Chamber of Pharmacy Ghana.

The Chamber of Pharmacy Ghana has also called on the government as a matter of urgency to ensure adherence to the NHI Act on reimbursement to Service Providers among other things as contained in a statement released.

The Chamber of Pharmacy Ghana is also set to organize the Ghana Pharmaceutical Expo 2020 from March 25 to 27, 2020.
