Mikayil Faye is set to join French Ligue-one side, Rennes on a permanent transfer fee from Spanish La-Liga club, FC Barcelona.
After Rennes presenting their first official bid for the young talented center-back, Mikayil Faye, negotiations with the selling club have been progressively smooth. the 2004 born center-back joined FC Barcelona in June 2023 but only featured for the team-B of Barcelona. Faye was deem as a super potential center-back for the future.
However, Barcelona is currently set to show Mikayil Faye the exit door from the club to join Rennes in the French Ligue-one. The agreed permanent transfer fixed fee for Mikayil Faye to Rennes is €12million plus €4million add-ons.
It further includes in the contract that, €35millon transfer fee if Barcelona wants to bring Faye back after his first season while Barcelona will pay €40million buy back clause after two seasons. In addition, a 25% sell-on clause has been stipulated in the contract as well.
Meanwhile, the Senegalese international joined Barcelona in June 2023 for a pinch transfer fee of €5million from NK Kustosija. Mika at the time was linked to top European clubs such as Chelsea FC and Dortmund but chose to settle for Barcelona.
Mikayil Faye will be departing from Barcelona today in order to go complete his deal as he will under-take his medical test today, Friday, August 23, 2024.
