Former MTN FA Cup champions, Dreams FC, narrowly advanced to the Round of 32 after a tense 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Heart of Lions at the Tuba Astro Turf Park on Wednesday.

Following a goalless stalemate in regulation time, the home side needed a clutch performance to avoid early elimination, and Yaw Danso and Ishmael Addo delivered crucial spot-kicks that kept the home crowd’s hopes alive. Captain Joseph Esso, Derrick Atta Agyei, Isaac Yaro, and Ebenezer Adade successfully converted their penalties, ensuring Dreams FC remained in the hunt for another FA Cup title.

Despite a strong showing from both sides, neither team could capitalize on their chances during regular play. Heart of Lions, led by veteran coach Bashir Hayford, impressed with their organized attack but failed to find the back of the net. Meanwhile, Dreams FC’s missed opportunities frustrated their fans, who grew increasingly vocal in the second half.

Anane’s second goal on the stroke of halftime made it 5-0 going into the break.

Although Chelsea adopted a more conservative approach in the second half, they continued to dominate possession, with Anane completing his hat trick in the 71st minute to seal the emphatic win. The victory leaves Boresa FC with little consolation as Chelsea firmly booked their place in the Round of 32.
