Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu, Member of Parliament for Walewale and Deputy Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, has been appointed as substantive Minister by Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The President has also appointed Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah, Member of Parliament for Kwabre East, as Deputy Minister.

According to a statement issued by Jubilee House announcing the new appointments, the President hopes that Parliament will approve the nominees as soon as possible.

The position became vacant after Ghana’s President fired former Minister Sarah Adwoa Safo.

The Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament was absent from her post for nearly a year due to child care obligations.
