Albert and Camillia Pallone Of Emerson, Georgia; died in a DUI Crash

Albert and Camillia Pallone, both of Emerson, Georgia, were killed in a DUI crash in Cherokee County on Saturday night. William Bryan Abernathy of Cartersville, Georgia, was found to be driving under the influence.

Al Pallone, the mayor of Emerson, and his 69-year-old wife, Millie, were killed in a multi-vehicle accident near Canton on Saturday night. Abernathy, 50, was detained and charged with DUI at the scene.

Abernathy, who was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck, reportedly drove across centerlines and into oncoming lanes on Knox Bridge Highway at Fields Landing Drive in Canton around 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Al Pallone’s Hyundai Santa Fe then crashed with the automobile. The force of the impact flipped the Hyundai, which then collided with a GMC Savana van. The pickup was also engaged in an accident with a Mazda 3.

All three people involved in the accident—Abernathy, the Mazda driver, and the GMC van driver—were sent to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Al and Millie were both discovered dead from what seemed to be blunt-force injuries. Emerson, Georgia, had a new mayor, and Al was already in charge.

Abernathy was charged with driving while drunk, driving recklessly, causing death by car in the first degree, and causing serious bodily harm by car. We still don’t know what caused the horrific crash.
