Andre Dede Ayew, the Black Stars forward, has officially extended his stay with French Ligue 1 club Le Havre AC, signing for another season in the top flight. This move comes as the club aims to strengthen its squad ahead of crucial upcoming matches.
The announcement was made ahead of Le Havre’s important clash against Brest on Saturday, October 5, at 15:00 GMT. Le Havre is looking to bounce back from a three-game losing streak, making this match a vital one before the international break.
Ayew, who rejoined Le Havre as a free agent, previously made a significant impact at the club. During the 2023-2024 season, he scored six goals in 20 appearances across all competitions, helping the team avoid relegation. His performance was a key factor in Le Havre maintaining its Ligue 1 status.
Although Ayew will miss the upcoming game against Brest, fans are hopeful to see him make his return to the field after the international break, potentially facing Olympique Lyon on October 20.
Interestingly, Ayew has not been included in the Ghana Black Stars squad for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan, set to take place on October 10 and 15.
Le Havre will be counting on Ayew’s experience and leadership as they aim to climb up the Ligue 1 table in the coming months.
