Andrew Gillum, an American politician, now serves as the mayor of Tallahassee, Florida. He’s a Democrat. He ran for governor of Florida as a Democrat in 2018. From 2003 to 2014, he served on the Tallahassee City Commission.
Andrew Demese Gillum was born on July 26, 1979, in Miami, Florida. He has six siblings. His mother, Frances, was a school bus driver, and his father, Charles, was a construction worker.
Gillum grew up in Gainesville and graduated from high school there. In 1998, he was named one of the Gainesville Sun’s “Persons of the Year.” Gillum completed his undergraduate studies at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU).
