Asisat Oshoala Husband, children, net worth, Bio. Asisat Oshoala, a Nigerian football player, has won the Women’s Player of the Year Award for the sixth time in the history of African football. The award ceremony was held in Marrakech on Monday. Oshoala, who currently plays for Barcelona, has become a global name in women’s football.

However, there is still much to be learned about her. She began her career with Lagos-based women’s club FC Robo in 2009 and played for them until 2013. Later, she moved to Port Harcourt to join Rivers Angels, one of Nigeria’s leading football clubs.

In January of 2015, Asisat Oshoala joined Liverpool, a Women’s Super League team. However, Liverpool did not utilize Oshoala’s talents, and Arsenal activated the release clause in her contract after just one year. Oshoala made an immediate impact in North London, leading Arsenal to win the 2016 FA Women’s Cup.

Oshoala has represented Nigeria in three FIFA Women’s World Cups. Her goal in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over South Korea was nominated for Goal of the Tournament by FIFA. In addition, she participated in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2014, where she won both the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball. Oshoala has also won the Women’s African Cup of Nations (formerly African Women’s Championship) three times: in 2014, 2016, and 2018.

On July 27th, 2023, Asisat Oshoala made history by becoming the first Nigerian to score at three different Women’s World Cups. She achieved this feat during Nigeria’s 3-2 victory over Australia at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Oshoala came in as a substitute in the 63rd minute at Brisbane Stadium and scored Nigeria’s third goal just nine minutes later.
