Barcelona Sporting Director Confirms Interest In Mohammed Kudus

Jordi Cruyff, Barcelona’s Sporting Director, has confirmed that the Catalan club is interested in and tracking Mohammed Kudus.

A number of top Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Barcelona, are reportedly interested in the Ajax attacker.

“We’ve been trackingMohammed Kudus for more than one year. We can’t say now that Barça want Kudus… but he’s attracting interest,” Jordi told Spanish outlet RAC 1.

This season, the 22-year-old has primarily played as a false nine for Ajax, rather than his usual position as number ten.

Cruyff goes on to say that he has been following debates in the Netherlands about the role the Right to Dream Academy alumnus should play.

“He’s scoring goals and in Holland, they discuss a lot about his position, so yes – I know him well,” he added.

Kudus has been on fire for the Dutch giants since being played as a false nine, scoring 10 goals in 21 games across all competitions after struggling for game time at the start of the season.

He’s also lighting up the 2022 World Cup with a brilliant performance against Portugal and a historic brace against South Korea, and he’ll play Uruguay next on Friday.

Mohammed Kudus will be crucial for Ghana if they are to beat the South Americans and advance to the World Cup round of 16 in 2022.
