Toke Makinwa Biography
Born on 3rd November 1984, in Abuja Nigeria, Toke Makinwa has risen 36 years later to become one of the top media personalities in Nigeria.
Toke attended Federal Government Girls’ College Oyo and graduated from Unilag where she bagged a B.A in English studies. She lost both her parents before she was 15.
Toke got married to Maje Ayida in 2014 but their marriage came to a scandalous end in 2017 after Maje’s ex-girlfriend claimed she was pregnant for him.
It was a trying moment for Toke, one which she claimed brought her to her knees. But our baby girl for life strengthened by her faith got back on her feet and in that same year bagged numerous awards.

Toke Makinwa hosts the morning drive on Rythm 93.7FM. She is also a television host, vlogger, Lifestyle entrepreneur, author, and actor. Toke has been active since 2010.
Her first TV debut was as the host for the 2012 Most beautiful girl in Nigeria (MBGN) awards. Since then she has gone on to host several other television shows like The Buzz, The voice Nigeria.
Her vlog series Toke moments was launched in 2012 and she releases an episode every Wednesday. Her book on becoming”a must tell” which she released in 2016 tells the story of her journey through pain to victory and how she drew strength from her faith.
She embarked on a book tour in Nigeria, the US, UK, Paris, and East Asia. Toke launched her handbag line in 2017 under her label Toke Makinwa’s glam.
