Christina Applegate’s performance on the NBC sitcom Friends earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination (2002–2003). Applegate was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, according to a People magazine article.

Despite only having cancer in one breast, she underwent a double mastectomy and was later declared cancer-free. She carries the BRCA1 mutation, which increases her risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer.

Her mother was also afflicted with the disease. Applegate revealed in August 2021 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a few months earlier.

Christina Applegate’s parents are Nancy Priddy (mother) and Robert Applegate. They split up not long after Christina was born. Her father Robert Applegate was a record producer and record company executive, according to reports.

Her mother Nancy Priddy is an actress and singer-songwriter from the United States of America. She has appeared in several television shows, including Bewitched, The Waltons, and Matlock.

In the summers of 1961 and 1962, Robert Applegate appeared in musical revues at the Peninsula Players theater near Fish Creek, Wisconsin, as a member of the Party-Liners group.

Whiles Nancy Priddy was a member of the short-lived folk singing group The Bitter End Singers in 1964, along with Lefty Baker, Tina Bohlmann, Bob Hider, Norris O’Neill, and Vilma Vaccaro.

In 1968, Christina released the psychedelic folk album You’ve Come This Way Before, which was hailed as a minor classic by Billboard and an eccentric singer/songwriter album that drew on both folk-rock and psychedelia by an Allmusic reviewer.
