A court has remanded former Ghana Black Stars footballer Prince Tagoe in custody for stealing $40,000 from Ghana Black Stars assistant coach George Boateng.

Prince Tagoe allegedly told George Boateng that he is a car importer and hired him to bring him a car.

On January 8, 2021, George Boateng allegedly gave Prince Tagoe $40,000 to purchase a 44 Lexus for him to use whenever he visits Ghana.

According to the assistant coach of the Ghana Black Stars, Prince Tagoe has not fulfilled his end of the bargain and has not refunded him his $40,000 deposit. The prosecutor produced documents proving that the complainant, George Boateng, paid the alleged sum to the accused, Prince Tagoe.

His Honor Samuel Bright Acquah, presiding judge of the Circuit Court in Accra, adjourned the case until January 4, 2023. He then remanded the accused, Prince Tagoe, until the next court date on January 4, 2023.
