Assembly Members of the Kpone-Katamamso municipality have thrown their full support for the re-election of the Former President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming general elections.
In a health walk which was held in Zenu- Katamanso, a suburb of the Kpone municipality in the early hours of Saturday morning, 10 August 2024 saw thousands of members and some leaders of the National Democratic Congress participate in the exercise which was dubbed “The return of H.E John Dramani Mahama to the Flagstaff house walk.”
The walk featured many patriotic party faithfuls of the National Democratic Congress and residents of the community which was very overwhelming. However, assembly members who are deem as non-partisans found their selves participating in the exercise which was organized by the leading opposition political party in the country.
Further, the Kpone-Katamanso municipality has a total of eighteen elected assembly members. Meanwhile, seventeen out of the eighteen of these elected assembly members made an appearance at the health walk.
Honourable George Yeboah, the Assembly member for Kpone Bawaleshie share his displeasure with the way the country is being administered by President Akufo-Addo. As one of the seventeen assembly members, he bemoaned government’s failure to improve the economic conditions Ghanaians.
“….. looking at the hardship, Ghanaians cannot even afford a square meal again. I am telling you, things are very hard. Because see, if cement was being sold at Gh¢16 and now it is Gh¢108, it tells you that the center cannot hold therefore there must be change,” Hon George Yeboah said.
He further made a fact comparison of between the government of Former President John Dramani Mahama and the current government being led by President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
“Looking r the four years of John Mahama, the massive infrastructure and the development we saw; that is not what we are seeing and we believe John Mahama can do better than what their doing and that is why we want to bring him back,” he added.
Honourable Yeboah asserted that, the Kpone-Katamanso municipal assembly has not been able to under-take developmental projects due to the lack of finance. He claimed that, the government has failed to resource the municipal assembly for it to be more effectively in their daily dealings.
“You see, let me tell you, assembly’s run of Internal Generated Funds (I.G.F) and District Assembly Common Funds (DACF), go to the district assembly and check, it is not coming. The government can not pay,” Hon. George Yeboah iterated.
Meanwhile, the health-walk saw the appearance of the Member of Parliament for the Kpone-Katamanso constituency, Honourable Joseph Tetteh Akuertey feature keenly. The exercise also double up to campaign severely for the Flag-bearer of the National Democratic Congress and urged the constituents to vote for the incumbent Member of Parliament of the constituency.
