EPL: Erik Ten Hag Names Fabulous Man United Star

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has praised Luke Shaw and called his recent efforts as a defender “excellent.”

Shaw was recently switched from his customary left-back position to an emergency center-back by the Dutchman.

Lisandro Martinez has yet to return from his World Cup sabbatical after assisting Argentina to victory in Qatar, and Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have struggled.

Shaw was brought in by the manager to play with Raphael Varane in the heart of the defense, and the left-back has excelled in his new role against Nottingham Forest and Wolves.

Shaw’s ‘fantastic’ performances at center-back, according to Ten Hag, have proven he’s now a ‘future option’ there.

“We have seen the last two games. I think he did fabulous and was impressive, but we also know he is really good as a left full-back but it’s an extra option and [that] is always good for a team,” Ten Hag told the press before of Manchester United’s match against Bournemouth.
