A raging fire has completely razed Vision Beach, a popular beachfront destination in the Ellembelle District of Ghana’s Western Region. The fire, which broke out on the evening of Wednesday, May 28, 2025, also extended to the nearby Maaha Beach Resort, affecting eight rooms.

According to reports gathered by Connect FM’s Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, the fire began at Vision Beach and quickly spread due to the structure’s predominantly wooden construction. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded swiftly, managing to contain the flames before they could cause further destruction at Maaha Beach Resort.

“The entire Vision Beach has been completely destroyed—everything reduced to ashes. That’s where the fire started before it spread to Maaha. Thanks to the timely response from the Fire Service, they managed to contain it, though eight rooms at Maaha were still affected,” a GNFS source confirmed.

As of the time of this report, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Efforts to reach the management of both Vision Beach and Maaha Beach Resort for comments have been unsuccessful.
