At the Flute Charity Foundation, we believe that where a child is born should never determine how far they can go. Guided by this belief, we proudly commissioned a new Computer Lab and Library at Miaso Krobo D.A. Basic School in the Fanteakwa North District, in partnership with The Helpers Hand Foundation.

For many years, the school, which serves students from more than twenty surrounding communities, operated without basic ICT and reading resources. This made hands-on learning difficult and limited students’ exposure to the digital skills needed in today’s world. Through our seventh major initiative, Restoring Hope VII, we worked together to transform an empty room into a functional learning space where students can read, explore, and grow.

The official commissioning took place on December 5, 2025, a day that also marked Ghana’s Farmers’ Day. The celebration featured a colorful Durbar that brought together traditional leaders, education officials, and members of the community. Present at the event were Nana Ben Opoku Kwabi, Odikro of Miaso Number 1; Mr. Lam Tetteh and Mr. Tetteh Teye Simon, SISOs for the district; Ps. Ahijah Wonder; Headmaster Mr. Siame David; and Assistant Headteacher Mr. Wisdom Matey. The official lunch was graciously hosted by Mr. Wisdom Matey and Nana Abena Bempomah Asante, Founder and Vice President of the Flute Charity Foundation.

Speaking at the event, Nana Abena Bempomah Asante reminded everyone that the donation was about more than computers. She encouraged the school to take good care of the resources, explaining that they would play a key role in shaping the students’ future. She also called on parents and the wider community to continue supporting education. Sharing the Ghanaian proverb, “A tree cannot make a forest,” she stressed that education is key.

The day was made even more special by a poetry performance from selected students who spoke passionately about the importance of computers in learning. As a sign of appreciation, the school presented the Foundation and its partner with proceeds from local farmers, reflecting the spirit of Farmers’ Day. Music, dancing, and shared laughter followed, turning the commissioning into a true celebration of community and hope.
With the new Computer Lab and Library in place, Miaso Krobo D.A. Basic School is now better positioned to build digital skills, strengthen reading culture, and encourage critical thinking, giving students the tools they need to succeed in a fast-changing world.
At the Flute Charity Foundation, we remain committed to restoring hope, empowering communities, and building brighter futures, one child at a time.
FCF. WE CARE. WE LOVE. WE SHARE.
