Despite the hiring restriction in the public sector, the Ghana Education Service has created a recruitment webpage for teachers with diploma credentials.
There has been no news on the release of appointment letters less than a month after the portal’s closing.
According to Kofi Asare of African Education Watch, appointment letters are being distributed in batches.Some Jackson College of Education graduates are thought to have obtained these.
Many letters, according to Kofi Asare, will be ready by Tuesday, as the second term began last week. He shared it on Facebook;
I hear GES appointment letters are being issued in batches. Many should be ready from Tuesday. This is a limited ‘critical’ recruitment within a Net Hiring Freeze Policy ‘imposed’ by the IMF.
