“We Tried Our Best” – Azamati
Speaking after the race, Benjamin Azamati expressed mixed emotions but highlighted the team’s progress.
“We tried our best. The conditions weren’t ideal, but our last World Championships final, we finished fifth, and now we’ve improved to fourth. I’m not saying we are settling for that, but at least it’s a positive step forward.”
Fuseini: “We Live to Fight Another Day”
For Ibrahim Fuseini, the disappointment was clear, but he emphasized resilience and focus on the future.
“This was not the result we wanted, but it has happened already, and we live to fight another day.”
Amoah: “We’ll Take This Result”
Veteran sprinter Joseph Paul Amoah praised the team’s back-to-back sub-38-second performances.
“It happens in sports. We’ll take this result. Running under 38 seconds on two consecutive days, we can’t ask for anything better than that.”
Saminu: “Bad Weather Affected Us”
Anchor leg runner Abdul-Rasheed Saminu pointed to challenging weather conditions.
“It wasn’t much our effort today. Bad weather, so we can’t blame anybody. We just leave it to God and get ready for what’s coming next.”
