According to the National Identification Authority (NIA) the Ghana Card registration process is free at all district and regional office.
They also advised the public to reports all centers who are charging before doing the Ghana Card cards.
Below is what NIA media relations officer Dora Badu Owusu Adoma said when she was been interviewed on Accra-based Happy FM
“You don’t need to pay money to anyone at any of our district and regional offices because the registration process is free.”
“File a complaint against any of our officers who demand money from you and the appropriate sanctions will be taken against them”.
“We also suffer some intermittent network challenges and that also causes a delay in the registration process.”
She also said it takes between 25 to 35 minutes for one to complete the registration process for the Ghana Card.
