Ghana Communication Technology University
Ghana Technology University College and Ghana Telecom University College were the earlier names for Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU).
About Ghana Telecom University
Ghana Communication Technology University was established in 2005 as a government-funded, government-owned university. The Public Universities’ Bill, approved in 2020, resulted in the university’s name change to Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU).
Telecommunications Engineering and Information and Communications Technologies are among the bachelor’s and graduate programs offered by the university. It also provides certificate programs, as well as professional development seminars and workshops, with courses that count toward a bachelor’s degree.
GTUC’s enrollment has grown steadily since its initial 350 students enrolled in 2006, to almost 7,000 students in 2017.
The main campus of GCTU is located in Accra’s Tesano neighborhood. A second school in Abeka, a close Accra suburb, and a satellite college in Nungua have both opened. Aside from Accra, satellite campuses may be found at Kumasi, Takoradi, Koforidua, and Ho.
