Ghanaian musician Prosdos has made the country proud after winning an award at the Elite Academy of Africa Pioneers Gala held on May 17, 2025, in Cotonou, Benin. He was the only Ghanaian artist honoured at the event, joining five other award winners from Benin and Togo.

The Pioneers Gala is an important African event that celebrates artists who are doing great work and making a difference in their field. Prosdos was recognised as a pioneer and an emerging talent who has the potential to take Ghanaian music to the world.

Prosdos is known for mixing traditional Ghanaian music with modern sounds like Afrobeats, reggae, Hiplife, and Sagacity. On the African music streaming platform Boomplay, he has released songs such as Union Africa for Culture, The Beauty of Tome, Ibrahim Traore, Bebe Shokoma ft. Backbush, Ghana Guy ft. Charllion, and Yollo Me. He also works with artists from Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo to promote African music.

Speaking after the award, Prosdos said he is proud to represent Ghana and wants his music to promote the country around the world.

“Every award I get is for Ghana first. I love my country, and I want our music to be known everywhere,” he said.

Prosdos Needs More Support

Even though his music career is growing, Prosdos says he faces many challenges. He does not have a manager, pays for his own studio sessions, and does not get enough promotion.

“I need help to push my music further. I need management, media interviews, and more radio and TV airplay. I also want the Ghanaian authorities, especially in tourism and culture, to involve me in projects that promote Ghana,” he explained.

Prosdos believes that with the right support, he can achieve more and make Ghana proud on the world stage. His award at the Pioneers Gala is proof that he has the talent and determination to succeed.
