Recognition of a Cultural Ambassador
This latest recognition cements Prosdos’ place as one of Ghana’s fast-rising cultural ambassadors. He is widely celebrated for blending traditional African rhythms with contemporary sounds, while showcasing unique stagecraft and creativity.
Prosdos first made waves with his debut single “Bebe Shokoma” during the COVID-19 lockdown and has since performed at major events, including the Aspatere Festival and Akwaba Festival. He is also admired for his innovative cultural fashion, including stage outfits made from natural materials such as corn husks.
A Trail of Awards and Honours
The UAC honour follows earlier recognitions, including:
- His 2023 attestation from Togo Culture Internationale for his contribution to music and cultural promotion.
- His recognition by the Regroupement pour la Culture Togolaise (RECTO) in July 2023 as a registered member and cultural figure.
In 2025, he also won the Grand Prix Africain de la Culture, a continental award acknowledging African artists who promote creativity and cultural identity.
Looking Ahead
Prosdos is currently working on his debut studio album and collaborating with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to organize a cultural festival in Ketu South. The project aims to promote peace and unity through music and culture.
Despite his growing reputation, Prosdos has highlighted the financial challenges faced by artists in the sub-region and has appealed for stronger institutional support from Ghana’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Summary
With multiple international recognitions, including this latest Union Africaine pour la Culture award, Prosdos continues to establish himself as a leading Ghanaian voice in music and cultural representation across Africa.
