Golden Globes 2023

Golden Globes 2023. Jerrod Carmichael hosted the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday, January 10, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in New York City’s Rainbow Room.

After a year off the air due to the scandal, the Golden Globes returned. After a 2021 Los Angeles Times investigation revealed that none of the 87 Hollywood Foreign Press members were Black, the awards show has been seeking to recover from a racial exclusion crisis.

Jerrod Carmichael, the 80th annual event’s host, began the ceremony by telling the crowd, “I’m here because I’m Black,” before the prize distribution began.

The film wins were The Fabelmans and The Banshees of Inisherin, while the television winners were Abbott Elementary, House of the Dragon, and The White Lotus.

Individual winners were Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Angela Bassett, Ke Huy Quan, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Coolidge, Steven Spielberg, Michelle Yeoh, Julia Garner, Zendaya, Guillermo del Toro, Cate Blanchett, and Austin Butler.
