Music lovers who have had early access to the project say the songs have a way of ministering to the soul each time they are played, making them perfect for personal devotion, church services, and praise sessions.
The production quality of the album reflects the high standards that HCMC has become known for over the years. Each song is carefully arranged with live instrumentation and dynamic vocals that bring out the message in each track.
Harbour City Mass Choir has been at the forefront of contemporary gospel music in Ghana for over two decades. The inter-denominational choir, based in Tema, has built a reputation for impacting youth through contemporary gospel music, school outreach programs, and peer counselling.
The choir’s debut album, ‘Touching Our Youth’, launched at the National Theatre in 2008, set the bar high for contemporary gospel music in Ghana. Since then, HCMC has continued to push boundaries, hosting the annual ‘Highest Praise’ concert and partnering with renowned gospel artistes to spread the message of Christ.
Co-founded by gospel music icon Nii Okai, the choir has been instrumental in shaping what contemporary Ghanaian gospel music sounds like today. Their approach combines foreign gospel rhythms with choral compositions and traditional Ghanaian musical elements, creating a sound that is both familiar and fresh.
