Hearts of Oak were defeated by Bechem United in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League on Monday afternoon in Cape Coast, their first defeat in any competition under Serbian manager Slavko Matic.
Bechem stunned the Phobians with a 2-1 victory at Cape Coast Stadium, ending their six-game Premiership unbeaten streak.
Bechem made an early breakthrough and seized the lead six minutes into the game after catching Hearts on the break.

Hafiz Wontah Konkoni, who had not previously scored this season, increased the Hunters’ lead seven minutes later.

The Phobians had a chance to score a goal in the last seconds of the matchday 10 clash, but Kwadwo Obeng Junior’s injury-time strike put the game out of reach.
