How Did Cheslie Kryst Die?
According to the New York Police Department, Kryst perished after a fall from a high-rise building on Manhattan’s West Side, where she had an apartment.
According to Lt. Thomas Antonetti, also a police spokesperson, her death was being examined as a suicide. She died at the age of 30.
Cheslie posted a photo of herself on Instagram only hours before she died, with the message, “May this day bring you rest and peace.”

According to an article in SouthPark Magazine, Cheslie Kryst was born on April 28, 1991, in Jackson, Michigan. She however relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, when she was a toddler. She went on to acquire a business degree from the University of South Carolina, as well as an M.B.A. and a law degree from Wake Forest University.
Ms. Kryst is survived by her parents and five siblings.

Kryst’s Career
She joined Poyner Spruill, a North Carolina legal practice, in 2017 and concentrated on civil litigation. Although Ms. Kryst worked as a lawyer for some time, she was no stranger to beauty pageants. Her mother, April Simpkins, was crowned Mrs. North Carolina in 2002.
Ms. Kryst began competing in pageants as a teenager, winning the Miss Northwestern pageant while still in high school. She was elected Miss North Carolina in 2019 and went on to win Miss USA, making history as the oldest candidate to win at the age of 28. However, she went on to compete in the 2019 Miss Universe Competition for the United States, placing in the top ten.
