Wallis died on Tuesday at the Advanced Care Hospital in Searcy, Arkansas, according to an obituary published by the Roller-Coffman Funeral Home.

Wallis’ family said that his truck skidded off a bridge in Stone County, Arkansas, six weeks after his daughter was born in 1984.

Wallis settled into a minimally cognizant condition after a year in a coma. Despite this, physicians predicted that his condition would worsen, and his recovery stunned the world, according to his obituary.

His father, daughter, and three grandkids survive him.
