How To Make Liquid Soap In Ghana

Due to the importance of liquid soap now we thought it’s wise to teach you how to make your own liquid soap at home without buying or if you want a side income you can be making it and selling to companies, chop bars, and even churches.

Ingredients in making liquid soaps

Below is a list of the ingredients used in making liquid soap;

  • Sodium Benzoate: it is used to make liquid soap last for a longer time, and prevents fungi from growing
  • Cocamidopropyl betaine: it is made from coconut oil and dimethylaminopropylamine. It helps the foaming element of soap
  • Methylisothiazolinone and Methylchloroisothiazolinone are chemicals used in cleaning wood products, as they can prevent sap stains, mold, and mildew.
  • Fragrance:  it adds a perfuming element to soap. 
  • pH Adjusters: It acts as a stabilizing agent, helping pH levels remain steady
  • Dyes: they give the soap a new colour

The ingredients in soap are a combination of natural and processed substances. The most common components are water, sodium hydroxide (caustic soda), fats, and oils, along with fragrance or colorants to add scent and visual appeal.

Simple Steps To Follow In Making Liquid Soap

All you need are three ingredients to make your own liquid soap.

The first step is to soften the caustic soda. To do this, mix it with 2 liters of water and leave it for one hour or even overnight. After that, take sulphonic acid and add texapon and perfume for a pleasant smell. Add around 10 liters of water and stir it. SLS and STPP should be softened with 1.

When making liquid soap at home, you will need to wear hand gloves before adding soda ash and caustic soda. The mixture will be heated in a boiling water bath. When heating the mixture make sure that it does not get too hot or else the mixture could catch on fire. It should also never boil so it is important to check the temperature regularly and stir periodically. After you have added all of the ingredients.
