Ghanaian beauty and lifestyle influencer Dulcie Boateng has stirred social media after disclosing that her journey to wealth began shortly after dating a man she later discovered was a fraudster.
In a video that has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), Dulcie candidly shared how her 2018 trip to Singapore changed her life forever. According to her, she met an intelligent young man during her travels — a man she would come to realize was engaged in fraudulent activities.
“In 2018, I travelled to Singapore and met this guy. He wasn’t an influencer, he was a fraud boy, and he was smart. That’s why they do what they do,” she revealed.
Dulcie stated that while she was unaware of his criminal background at the time, the man’s strategic thinking and business advice reshaped how she approached her work as an entrepreneur and content creator.
“He gave me things I could work with. Everything he said made sense. I applied it to my business and within a month, there was an instant change. I went from making GH¢400 to GH¢1,000 a month,” she added.
On Gifting Her Mother Two Range Rovers
Addressing speculation surrounding her lifestyle and her decision to gift her mother not one, but two Range Rovers, Dulcie said it was a way of making up for the hardship she caused her mother growing up.
“I bought an Evoque for her first, then a Velar a year later. She deserves it. I stressed that woman when I was young,” she said emotionally.
She also used the moment to call out fake motivational stories, often shared by the rich, that overlook the importance of knowledge and timing.
“You know how rich men say they started with one egg or a GH¢400 phone? I understand that now. It’s about what you do with what you have.”
Dulcie Boateng is well known in Ghana’s influencer space for her bold opinions on money, relationships, and personal branding. Her latest revelation has sparked heated discussions online about ethics, entrepreneurship, and the realities behind many influencers’ rise to fame and fortune.
