Salient Ghanaian-born midfielder, Clifford Aboagye has stated that he was hoping to get a call-up from the Black Stars management team ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup tournament.
The former skipper of the Black Satellites was snubbed by the then Coach Otto Addo ahead of the 2022 World Cup despite his readiness to play for the senior national team at that time.
In a recent interview monitored by Xorlali.com, the young Ghanaian midfielder made it clear that it was aim to make it to the final squad selected for the mundial but it never happened.
According to him, he was an active player by then and so he was hoping to be called by Otto Addo but he still hasn’t lost hope because he believes God works in marvelous ways.
Nevertheless, he stated that he is still focus on working to earn a Black Stars call-up and he knows his time will definitely come.
The former Inter Allies midfielder is currently with no club and with barely a month to the AfCON 2023 tournament it is unlikely to be certain whether he will be offered a late call-up despite his current football condition.
