Nana Ama was born on 15 August 1977 to Cecilia Agyenim Boateng and Kwabena Nkrumah at Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana.
After Nana Ama McBrown attended St. Peter’s International Residential School, she was moved to Minnesota International and then to Central International School. Due to her school transfers, she dropped out of high school after attending Kwadaso L. A J.S.S.
