President John Dramani Mahama has officially submitted the names of 13 deputy ministerial nominees to Parliament for approval. The announcement, made through the Presidency’s Communications Directorate, highlights key appointments aimed at strengthening governance and policy execution across various ministries.
Among the notable nominations is John Kofi Setor Dumelo as Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, a move that has generated significant public interest given his background in both politics and agribusiness. Additionally, Samson Ahi has been nominated for the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, a crucial sector for Ghana’s economic growth.

- Thomas Nyarko Ampem – Ministry of Finance
- Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi – Ministry of the Interior
- Ernest Brogya Genfi – Ministry of Defence
- Clement Abas Apaak – Ministry of Education
- Richard Gyan-Mensah – Ministry of Energy & Green Transition
- Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini – Ministry of Roads & Highways
- Justice Srem-Sai – Ministry of Justice & Attorney General
- Yusif Sulemana – Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources
- Rita Naa Odoley Sowah – Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy & Religious Affairs
- Gizella Tettey-Agbotui – Ministry of Works, Housing & Water Resources
- Yussif Issaka Jajah – Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts
President Mahama has also nominated Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba as Minister of State for Public Sector Reforms.
The nominations are now subject to parliamentary approval. If approved, these deputies will work alongside their respective ministers to implement key government policies.
