Karyn Hay has been announced as the replacement for Bryan Crump on RNZ Nationwide’s nighttime show. Crump’s decision to move to RNZ Live performance, according to RNZ’s Head of Radio David Allan, provided an opportunity to refresh the night offering on RNZ Nationwide, and he was looking forward to what Hay would bring to her new extended timeslot.
“Karyn is a broadcasting icon and a preferred and versatile radio host. We’re excited to have the ability to give her the entire night and I do know listeners will take pleasure in listening to extra of her on-air – together with that fantastic trademark snigger.”
Hay, an accomplished novelist, broadcaster, and speaker, received the Unbiased Spirit Award at the Taite Prize in Might, honouring her contribution to Aotearoa’s music industry during her broadcasting career. Hay also has an ONZM for enterprises involved in broadcasting and New Zealand music.
Since 2018, she has hosted These Days with Karyn Hay from 10-11 p.m. on weeknights, and her first show in the expanded schedule will be on October 3. Crump’s final day on RNZ Nationwide is September 30. From mid-October, he will be performing on RNZ Live.
“It is a terrific privilege to be doing Nights on RNZ Nationwide. I very a lot hope you may come and lounge round with me within the evenings,” she mentioned.
