Kumasi Technical University (KTU) is a public tertiary institution in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The school is formerly known as Kumasi Polytechnic.

History About Kumasi Technical University.
In 1954, Kumasi Technical University was established as Kumasi Technical Institute (KSTU). However, the school started teaching and learning in 1955 focusing mainly on craft courses. The Institute was later converted to a Polytechnic 30th of October 1963.
Moreover, they started offering technician diplomas and sub-professional courses in addition to the craft courses. In 2017, the Technical University Act 2016, (Act 922) converted Kumasi Polytechnic to Kumasi Technical University. However, the school aims to provide higher education in engineering, applied arts, science technology-based disciplines, technical and vocational training.
