Kwadwo Safo Kantanka Biography
Kwadwo Safo Kantanka was born on the 26th of August 1948 at Bekwai in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Kwadwo Safo attended the Ghana Technical Works Institute in Kumasi after completing his primary and secondary education. He later had a three-year stint as a welder at the Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO).
Kwadwo Safo is married and blessed with children. Although he has several children Sarah Adwoa Safo and Kwadow Safo Kantanka Jnr. are well known. Sarah is a politician and member of parliament for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency. Kantanka Jnr is an entrepreneur and managing director for his father’s companies. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s Career
Kwadow Safo founded the Kristo Asafo ( Christ Reformed Church), which was a movement he initially started as a prayer group in the late 1960s. On the 3rd of February 1971, he transformed it into a church in Accra, Ghana. His church has over 130 branches in Ghana and Abroad. Kwadwo Safo is also the founder of Great Kosa Company, a popular manufacturing company.
The company began mass production of the vehicles in Ghana in early 2015 after Ghana Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) gave then the green light. He was the first African to manufacture heavy-duty machines, vehicles, engines, and aircraft manually. He was also the first person to build electric cars in West Africa. He was the first man in the works to manufacture a Bass guitar with seven strings.
His philanthropic activities have earned him numerous awards and certificates, including two doctorate certificate honors, an Engineering honors, and Professor Emeritus conferred on him by Alfred Noble University from Ukraine.
