Lars Tate was one of the great NFL players in the 80’s however due to cancer he passed away on the 1st August 2022 at his home at the age of 56.
Tate ran for 1,417 yards on 149 attempts during his senior year, averaging 9.5 yards per carry, and scoring 14 touchdowns. He gained 1,400 yards on the ground and scored 23 touchdowns while in the 11th grade in 1982.
Tate led the team in rushing during the 1986 and 1987 football seasons while playing for the University of Georgia. Numerous UGA weightlifting records still belong to him.
