Lulu Haarmans Biography, Cause of Death, Age, Career, Family. Lungiswa “Lulu” Haarmans, a former Umhlobo Wenene FM host, died aged 41 years old.
According to sources, the former host of Khanya Gqiyazana, which broadcast on the Eastern Cape radio station from 9 to 12 p.m., died on Friday morning after being admitted to the hospital on Thursday.

Haarmans, who got numerous radio honors while working for the station, warned on social media on Monday that people should be on the watch for warning signs at all times because an unexpected death could occur at any time.
According to information supplied to Dispatch by her family on Friday morning, Lulu Haarmans, a former anchor of Umhlobo Wenene FM, died promptly after being admitted to a Makhanda hospital on Thursday night.
Vusumzi Haarmans, the brother of award-winning radio broadcaster Lulu Haarmans, said that his sister was ill. Haarmans, 41, was the host of the mid-morning program Khanya Gqiyazana.
“We took her to the hospital at around 14h30 but a few hours later she died. We are shattered and still coming to terms with this news. “It’s not easy,” Vusumzi said.
In 2019, Umhlobo Wenene FM fired Haarmans, who had been hired as a host for the newly established online station Ilizwi FM.
