Gabriel Martinelli has reacted to Arsenal’s decision to sign Brighton’s Leandro Trossard. Trossard, a dynamic attacker, can fill Martinelli’s role at the club perfectly.
Though the Brazil international is unconcerned and believes the Belgian will help the club win the Premier League this season. Trossard, according to Martinelli, will become a “very significant player” for Mikel Arteta’s team.
He made his debut in the 82nd minute of Arsenal’s 3-2 triumph over Manchester United on Sunday, replacing Martinelli.
Trossard’s arrival means increased competition for positions in Arteta’s attack, which could have a direct impact on Martinelli.
Arsenal signed the Belgium international last week for a fee of £27 million, with his contract set to expire in the summer.
Asked about the Gunners’ decision to sign Trossard, the Brazil international told ESPN Brasil: “He’ll be a very important player for us. We know his quality.
“He will certainly help a lot.
On Arsenal winning the league, Martinelli said, “We have a winning mentality.
“We always go on the pitch to win and we have to keep doing that if we want to be champions.
“It does not depend on age, but on the mentality and the desire to win every game.”
