Mary Kay Kinney Obituary. Mary Kay Kinney, 56, of Hazel Hurst, PA, died peacefully Friday (November 25, 2022) at her home with her husband by her side, following a long battle with COPD. She was born in Port Allegany on April 28, 1966, to Tommy and Patricia (Kelly) Starr. She married Timothy R. Kinney, who was born, on November 15, 1985, in Bradford, PA.

Mary Kay graduated from Port Allegany High School in 1984. She worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide and a Housekeeper at Sena Kean Manor in Smethport for 1512 years until her health conditions made it impossible.

Though Mary Kay’s health had been deteriorating for years, few knew the extent to which she was suffering. Her zest for life and unwavering spirit kept her going through the pain. Regardless of the difficulties or challenges she faced in her life, you would never hear her complain about anything.

Mary Kay was first and foremost a devoted wife and mother. She cherished her family and relished every moment spent with them. She particularly enjoyed playing Nana. She had a kind heart and a strong desire to help others. Mary Kay will be remembered for being a wonderful friend, for her selflessness, for her love of animals, and for her unconditional love. She will be sorely missed and will live on in our hearts forever.

Her mother, Patricia A. Starr of Port Allegany, survives her in addition to her husband. Tiffany A. (Charles) Johnson of Bradford, Lynette M. (David Calhoun) Kinney of Mt. Jewett, and Kristy L. (Patrick) Powers of Marietta, GA are her three daughters. Matthew, Blake, Trevor, Caleb, Kalie, Gabriella, Laila, Cameron, Kobe, Isaac, and Kaden are the nine grandchildren. Brenda (Dean) Goodwill of Smethport is the only sibling. There are also several nieces and nephews. Her father, father-in-law, and mother-in-law all died before Mary.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday at Hilltop Baptist Church, Route 646, Gifford, where funeral services will begin at noon, officiated by Rev. Max Simms, pastor. Clermont Cemetery will be used for burial.
