Michael Oher Siblings

Michael Oher is a former American football player who played as an offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2009.

Oher signed a five-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens for $13.8 million on July 30, 2009. After an injury to lineman Jared Gaither, Oher was switched to left tackle for the 2009 season. He returned to the right tackle in week 8. Oher played in every 2009 game, 11 at right tackle and 5 at left tackle. In his first post-season match against the New England Patriots on January 10, 2010, Oher played right tackle and the Ravens won 33-14.

On March 14, 2014, Oher signed a four-year contract with the Tennessee Titans worth $20 million. He was placed on injured reserve on December 13 after playing in eleven games for the Titans, missing the first two games due to a toe injury. Pro Football Focus rated Oher as the 74th most effective tackle out of all 78 in the 2014 season. On February 5, 2015, the Titans released Oher.

On March 6, 2015, Michael Oher signed a two-year, $7 million contract with the Carolina Panthers. On June 17, 2016, Oher signed a three-year contract extension with the Panthers worth $21.6 million, $9.5 million of which is guaranteed.

Michael’s siblings are also well known. His sister, Leigh Anne, played basketball at the University of Tennessee and is currently assistant coach for women’s basketball team at her alma mater.

His brother, Sean, was a standout football player at Ole Miss and played briefly with the Baltimore Ravens before being released in November 2013.

Michael has another brother, Gerald, who played football for Memphis University School and is now a student at Duke University.
