Michael Richards’s mother is Phyllis Nardozzi, who was a medical record librarian and his father is Williams Richards, who is also an engineer. His mother was of Italian descent and his father a Scottish and English descent. His father died in a car crash when he was only 2 years old.
Michael Richards attended Thousand Oak High School in California. In 1970, he was drafted into the United States Army and trained as a medic, and was stationed in West Germany. While in Germany, he was a member of the Training Road Show, which was a theatrical group.
He also enrolled in the California Institute of the Art, a received a bachelor’s degree from The Evergreen State College in 1975. He also went to Los Angeles College.
