Miss Wisconsin Grace Stanke Crowned Miss America
Miss Wisconsin Grace Stanke was awarded the title of Miss America on Thursday evening, December 15, 2022. Stanke is in her final year at the University of Wisconsin, where he studies nuclear engineering and is also active on the classical violin scene.
She won the pageant’s talent component by playing the violin and taking first place during the last night of the “preliminary competition.” As a result, she was awarded a scholarship in the amount of $2,500 during the second night of the 2023 Miss America Competition.
Competing for the college scholarships that come with the title of Miss America were fifty-one young women, one from each of the fifty states plus Washington, District of Columbia. It is the largest scholarship program for women in the United States and is run by a corporation that is tax-exempt under section 501(c)4 of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Miss America Organization awards college scholarships worth millions of dollars each year. Each year, participants in the MAO competition devote more than 500,000 hours of community work.
