Police Completes Autopsy on Late Singer Mohbad
The Police have confirmed the completion of the autopsy on the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. The announcement was made on the Police’s official Twitter page on Thursday night.
Previously, the Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, had revealed that Mohbad’s body was exhumed for the autopsy process. In the official statement, the Police stated, “The Police wish to inform the public that the autopsy procedure for Mr. Mohbad has been successfully completed.” They also mentioned that further information would be shared once the autopsy results become available.
Mohbad’s untimely death raised concerns and suspicions, with some pointing fingers at Afeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, the owner of Marlian Record Label. Naira Marley has vehemently denied any involvement and has called for a thorough investigation and justice in the matter.
Additionally, there have been disputes among family members regarding Mohbad’s estate. Some Nigerians questioned why he was buried in Ikorodu, Lagos, just a day after his death. However, his father clarified that the family followed Yoruba customs in this regard.
In response to the public outcry, Nigerian youths have organized peaceful protests across the country to demand justice for Mohbad. A candlelight procession and concert were also held in Lekki, Lagos, as a tribute to the late singer.
The Police have committed to investigating the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, and the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has requested the involvement of the Department of State Services (DSS) in the ongoing investigation.
