My Father Asked Me To Stop Smiling When I Was Growing – Seun Kuti

Oluseun Anikulapo Kuti, better known as Seun Kuti, is an afrobeat musician. He has talked about why he looks sad most of the time and some of the things that happened to him when he was young.

The late musician Fela Kuti’s oldest child has talked about some of the advice his father gave him when he was young.

The saxophonist, who is 39 years old, said that his father taught him that life is full of lessons that should be learned with a frown, not a smile. He quickly learned how to frown in a way that made it impossible for anyone to look at him.

According to Seun Kuti;

Fun fact. My dad used to give me frowning lessons. He said I was always smiling, but life needs frowning. Abami. You talk too much.
