The passing of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra, has once again drawn attention to her remarkable family and the legacy she built alongside her late husband, former President Jerry John Rawlings.

Together, the couple raised four children — Dr Zanetor, Yaa Asantewaa, Amina, and Kimathi Rawlings each of whom has charted their own impressive path in various professional fields.

1. Dr Zanetor Rawlings

Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings is the first child and eldest daughter of the late Nana Konadu and Jerry John Rawlings. She currently serves as the Member of Parliament for the Klottey-Korley Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

A medical doctor by profession, Zanetor is known for her passion for women’s empowerment, child rights, and community development. Beyond politics, she has remained committed to improving healthcare and social welfare in Ghana. The mother of three has become a strong voice for inclusive governance and youth development.

2. Yaa Asantewaa Rawlings

The second daughter, Yaa Asantewaa Rawlings, followed an academic path that took her across continents. She had her early education at Achimota School and later attended Trinity College. Yaa Asantewaa earned her first degree from the University of Dublin, Ireland, and a Master’s degree from Boston University in the United States.

She currently works as a Business Affairs Executive at the Office of the former President, where she has been involved in strategic administrative and development initiatives.

3. Amina Rawlings

Amina Rawlings, the third child of Nana Konadu and Jerry John Rawlings, is a lawyer and energy policy expert. She completed her early education at North Ridge Lyceum and Morning Star Schools in Accra before pursuing law at the University of Dundee in Scotland, where she earned an LLM in Petroleum Law and Policy (CEPMLP).

With over a decade of legal experience, Amina is affiliated with several international professional bodies, including the International Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and the UK Energy Lawyers Group. She is known for her expertise in oil and gas law, arbitration, and corporate governance.

4. Kimathi Rawlings

Kimathi Rawlings, the youngest and only son of Nana Konadu and Jerry John Rawlings, is a Commercial and Portfolio Advisor with Eni, a multinational oil and gas company based in London.

He had his basic education at North Ridge Lyceum and Morning Star School, and later obtained a BSc in International Business from Aston University in Birmingham, England. Kimathi also holds professional certifications in Oil and Gas Production and Negotiation Skills from MDT International.

The Rawlings family has long been at the heart of Ghana’s public life. Even after the passing of President Jerry John Rawlings in November 2020 and now Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings in October 2025, their children continue to uphold their parents’ legacy of service, leadership, and social responsibility.
