Neymar has surpassed Lionel Messi as France’s highest-paid footballer, earning a stunning £41 million each year.
L’Equipe, a French daily, has published estimates of monthly incomes in the country’s top tier. Mauricio Pochettino’s side dominated the list, with PSG players occupying 14 of the top 14 slots, demonstrating the gap between his team and the rest of the league.
Neymar, who joined PSG for £198 million from Barcelona in August 2017, is still the division’s highest earner, earning about £3.4 million per month before taxes. This corresponds to a gross annual remuneration of little about £41 million.
The second player on the list is Lionel Messi, who joined the club in the summer after an emotional departure from Barcelona.
The 34-year-old world superstar, who was once the highest-paid footballer in the world, currently earns roughly £34 million each year at the French giants.
Kylian Mbappe, 23, makes £22 million per year and is in the last months of his current contract.
Mbappe is anticipated to leave the club when his contract expires, with Real Madrid the most likely destination for a free transfer.
