Nick Cannon is now a dad of seven – just days after the birth of his fifth and sixth children. Today it was revealed that Alyssa Scott gave birth to the couple’s son on June 23, who they have named Zen.
The weekend before, Nick’s ex-lover Abby De La Rosa, 30, gave birth to snazzily named twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir.
Nick, 40, is a proud polyamorist and has made no secret of wanting to father as many children as possible – but outside of the constraints of a committed relationship.
He believes that marriage and monogamy only make women happy – and he just wants to focus on his own wellbeing.
He is also dad to Morocco and Monroe, 10, from his failed marriage to Mariah Carey. Model Brittany Bell is the mum of his five-year-old son Golden, and infant daughter Powerful, five months.
Alyssa – whose age is unknown – revealed that her baby had arrived with a selection of tastefully posed photos shared on Instagram. She wrote a sweet message, along with the tot’s date of birth: “I will love you for eternity – 6•23•21.”
A further photo confirmed that the baby’s name is Zen – although she had already shared that information with fans in a deleted comment referring to her unborn child as “Zen S. Cannon”.
Nick officially confirmed on Father’s Day that he was the dad of the model’s baby when he posted a photo of him caressing her bump on his own Instagram page.
She reshaped it with the caption: “Celebrating you today.” Father’s Day must have been hectic for The Masked Singer US star – but if he has his way, it will only get more frantic as time goes on.
In December 2019, Nick told rapper pal T.I. on his podcast, expediTIously: “I believe that relationships and marriage are designed to please women. Once I stepped away from my marriage with Mariah, I knew I would never get married again.
“I knew I’d never be in a relationship again and that I’d never want to be married again. I respect a polyamorous situation.
“But for me, that’s too many rules. I don’t want to answer to anybody. I want to be by myself forever. I got ‘lonesome’ tattooed on my neck. I’m good.
“I got kids by different women and I want more kids but I don’t want to be responsible for nobody else’s happiness.”
