Nigel Lawson, Baron Lawson, is a well-known Conservative Party politician and journalist in the United Kingdom. Nigel Lawson was a Member of Parliament for the Blaby constituency from 1974 to 1992, and he served in Margaret Thatcher’s cabinet from 1981 to 1989.

Before becoming a politician, Lawson began his career as a journalist with the Financial Times in 1956, where he later wrote the Lex column. In 1961, he was promoted to the position of City editor of The Sunday Telegraph.
