Honourable Andrew Egyapa Mercer has urged the citizenry to support the New Patriotic Party as their manifesto contains the “Bold Solutions” in making their living condition a much better one.
In a Joynews TV show dubbed the “Newsfile” hosted the Hon. Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture and a Legislator for Sekondi, Mr Mercer participated in a panel discussion on the topic “NPP HAS BOLD SOLUTIONS FOR STRUGGLING ECONOMY?”. In Hon. Mercer`s submission, he argued that no government has been able to materialize all its manifesto promises in Ghana however, the New Patriotic Party has the potency of delivering majority of its manifesto promises.
Plus, the lawmaker outlined the major manifesto promises penned in the New Patriotic Party`s manifesto which seeks to resolve the economic destress and many other factors which is hindering the success of the Ghanaian populace. Hon. Mercer claimed that, there are many ills averting the progress of the country and therefore believes the ruling government have the materials to ironed out the problem.
” You recall the LI that K.T Hammond sought to introduce in Parliament to try and place a cap on the importation of rice; what happenend? Because we ought to start from somewhere,” Hon. Andrew Mercer said.
He further highlighted that, the development of Ghana can not be done within just a day but rather, it can be done within a long period of time and good planning.
“… You have lived in America, I am not so sure whether sixty years of America`s independence, all their problems had been solved; we are a developing country for crying out loud. It can never be, I am saying that, yes there are somethings that we all ought to work to accelerate. I don`t have a difficulty with the view that, we should not be importing tomatoes.
” These are the policies that government with time, base on your revenue stream that you are able to, and of course, wastage and all that needs to be checked, I agree. But there is a lot that has been proposed in this document [manifesto] that if the good people of Ghana buy into it and give us the mandate, I am sure that, all things being equal, after four years when we come back to seek another mandate, Ghanaians can evaluate and determine that indeed these things have been done,” Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer iterated.
The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, DR. Mahamudu Bawumia on Sunday, 18 August,2024 presented the party`s manifesto heading into the December 7th general elections.
