NSMQ2024: Keta SHTS “Eagles” Soar to Victory with 57 Points, Securing Quarter-final Spot!

The highly anticipated One-eighth Stage of the 2024 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) kicked off with an intense contest between Keta SHTS, Kumasi Academy SHS, and Acherensua SHS. Keta SHTS, famously known as the “Eagles,” fly to victory with 57 points, securing their spot in the Quarter-final Stage.

The Round One was calm yet competitive, with Keta SHTS with 18 points,Kumasi Academy 17 points and Acherensua SHS 6 points.

The Round Two of the ‘Prudential Life Speed Race’ saw a shift in momentum. While Keta SHTS steadily moved ahead with 33 points, Kumasi Academy with 24 points, and Acherensua SHS, though still behind, inched backward with 5 points.

The Problem of the Day—a biology question—proved to be a significant hurdle. All school attempted but didnt get full marks. Acherensua SHS and Kumasi Academy had 2 and 3 points respectively for the round. Keta SHTS, however, managed to secure four points for partially solving the problem, adding to their respective totals.

In the ‘Jupay Money Transfer True or False Round’, Kumasi Academy launched a fierce comeback, answering all questions correctly and gaining an impressive 43 points. However, Ketasco maintained their lead, with 47 points. Acherensua SHS also made strides, securing 23 points, but it wasn’t enough to catch up to their competitors.

As the contest came to a close, Tamale SHS emerged victorious with an outstanding 57 points, booking their spot in the Quarter-final Stage. Kumasi Academy finished with 46 points, while Acherensua SHS with 23 points. Despite their defeat, both Acherensua SHS and Kumasi Academy can take pride in their journey through the competition.
